How to Make Valentine's Day Special?

With the sudden influx of advertisements for everything from diamond rings to giant teddy bears, Valentine’s Day can feel a little cheesy and high-pressured. But the real secret to showing someone you care can be as simple as sharing a special meal, watching their favorite movie, or surprising them with breakfast in bed.

Valentine's Day treats

Whipping up your loved one’s favorite dessert together is one of the most romantic (and fun!) ways to spend Valentine’s Day. Because in our book, a plate of red velvet whoopie pies beats a dozen red roses any day!

Valentine’s Day Mini Pancake Stacks

Heart strawberry mini pancake skewers

These adorable, blush-colored mini pancakes are the perfect Valentine’s Day breakfast in bed. Easy enough to whip up in minutes, you can crawl back in bed with your partner and enjoy them together!

Start by heating up the Belgian Boys’ Bite-Sized Pancakes. Called poffertjes in the Netherlands and made with yeast instead of batter, these pancakes have a light and airy texture and rich, complex taste. To decorate, slice a handful of strawberries in half and cut into heart shapes. Stack 3-4 mini pancakes on a skewer and top with a strawberry heart. Serve on a platter and with a small pitcher of warm maple syrup.

Lovebug Choco Stroopies

Mini choco stroopwafels decorated as ladybugs

Turn Choco Stroopwafels, crunchy waffle and caramel cookie sandwiches covered in a decadent layer of dark chocolate, into these crazy cute ladybugs. Use red and white icing to create your friendly ladybugs, placing dots or hearts to draw the creatures’ polka dots.

These little Lovebug Stoopies are not just adorable, but they’re easier to make than you might imagine! Perfect for a Valentine’s party for little ones (and grownups, too), they’re a great bitesize treat guaranteed to bring smiles.

Heart-Shaped Stroopwafels

Stroopwafels cut into hearts and dipped in chocolate

For those of us who are a little lazy (but a lot in love!), quick and easy Valentine's Day desserts can make a great last-minute gift. Instead of a cliché card, treat your partner to one of these caramelly, heart-shaped cookies. Start off with one of the Belgian Boys’ Dutch Caramel Stroopwafels. Cut into the shape of a heart, either by hand or with a large, heart-shaped cookie-cutter.

For the pink glaze, whisk 2 cups of confectioners’ sugar with 3 tbsp. unsalted butter, 3 tbsp. heavy cream, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, two drops of red food coloring, and a pinch of salt. Dip your stroopwafel into the glaze and place on a rack to set. Top with sprinkles.

Berry-Dipped Waffles

Belgian waffles dipped in pink chocolate and topped with strawberries

Did Cupid shoot an arrow through our heart, or are we just in love with these pink, berry-laden waffles? Either way, we absolutely adore this sweet Valentine’s Day treat idea. Our light and airy brioche dough Original Belgian Waffles have a uniquely decadent flavor and are easy to dress up for any special occasion.

Whisk up a pink glaze following the recipe from the previous dessert on this list. Dip your Belgian waffles in the glaze, making sure all the grooves and edges are covered, and allow to set. Top with sliced strawberries, pomegranates, and raspberries. Finish with an extra drizzle of icing.

Raspberry Valentine’s Day Cookies

Raspberry Cookie Tarts decorated for Valentine's Day

For a fun and healthy Valentine’s Day treat, these colorful raspberry cookies will set your heart aflutter. Okay, maybe not, but they’ll definitely satisfy your sweet tooth!

Bonus: you can master a new icing technique that looks a lot more complicated than it actually is. Start by coating a Raspberry Cookie Tart with frosting. While it’s still wet, lace small dots of white icing atop the cookie.  Then, take a small tool like a toothpick to drag through the center of the dot while it’s wet.  It will naturally take on a heart shape, perfect for Valentine’s Day joy.

If you’re looking to wow your loved ones with elegant Valentine’s Day sweets, you’ll love this simple yet impressive recipe. Decorate our individually packaged Limited Edition Red Berry Crumble by dipping the rims of the glass ramekins in water, then immediately into a bowl of red sugar sprinkles.

In a bowl, whisk together 18 oz Mascarpone cheese, ½ cup confectioners’ sugar, and one shot of Irish Cream liqueur. Pipe cheesecake mixture onto the red berry crumble and top with a fresh raspberry and a chocolate heart.
